I was looking for something with an insurance plan that would cover my annual prescription and get my annual deductible. This is the plan I purchased from the manufacturer for $50. It included the Crestor, which is in a $5 prescription. I was surprised when I found this and it is not covered by my insurance.
I would have been able to get the insurance, but I was not. The plan was not covered. The manufacturer had to make sure I was getting my annual deductible before the insurance was approved. I have seen no reason to pay the deductible, but that does not mean I cannot afford to pay the deductible.

Crestor 10 mg Tablet contains Rosuvastatin 10 mg which is used in the treatment of high cholesterol. Crestor 10 mg Tablet is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers “bad” cholesterol (LDL) triglycerides and raises “good” cholesterol (HDL). Crestor 10 mg Tablet is also used to help decrease the risk of developing a heart attack or other cardiovascular diseases. It thus aids people with heart diseases to reduce their cholesterol and triglycerides levels and also helps in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Crestor 10 mg Tablet can also be used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It thus aids high blood pressure patients to lower their blood pressure. It is usually taken orally once a day. AstraZeneca today announced that it has received approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Crestor (rosuvastatin calcium) from Novartis and for generic rosuvastatin calcium from AstraZeneca. In July 2011, AstraZeneca’s generic version of Crestor was approved for use in the treatment of adults with established cardiovascular disease and in patients with cardiovascular insufficiency and/or dyslipidaemia. Generic rosuvastatin calcium has a 10-month safety and efficacy window of 14-20 weeks, and Crestor has a 14-day, 20-day or 30-day efficacy window.
The company has received an additional 180-day safety and efficacy window for generic rosuvastatin calcium and a 28-day, 14-day or 30-day safety window for Crestor.
“We are pleased to have received this significant milestone and have been looking forward to a second round of marketing exclusivity,” said AstraZeneca’s chief executive officer, David Brennan. “We’re extremely excited about this opportunity to make a significant step forward in bringing Crestor and its generic formulation to market.”
Crestor is a calcium-channel blocker that works by inhibiting a family of atrial fibrillation drugs, such as fibrils. These atrial fibrils are associated with enhanced blood flow to the heart and improve exercise capacity, which are associated with a reduction in blood pressure and a reduction in cardiac risk factors such as high cholesterol and triglycerides. The effects of calcium on these atrial fibrils have been described as “fibrillar defects” (Fd). These defects may cause heart failure, stroke, or cardiac arrest.
Crestor is a branded product and the generic version is available in 10 mg, 20 mg and 30 mg strengths. AstraZeneca has approved the generic version of Crestor for use in the treatment of adult patients with established cardiovascular disease and in patients with cardiovascular insufficiency and/or dyslipidaemia. The generic version of Crestor is indicated for the treatment of patients with established cardiovascular disease.

Crestor (Rosuvastatin) is a statin drug used to lower cholesterol and lower high-density lipoprotein (a type of fat) levels in people who have high blood pressure or high cholesterol levels, as well as in people with a family history of hereditary lipid disorders, such as heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. It works by blocking the production of cholesterol in the liver, thereby lowering high cholesterol levels and helping to lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL cholesterol) levels. Crestor can help prevent heart attacks and stroke in people with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. It can also lower triglyceride levels in people with family history of high cholesterol or high blood pressure.
